This relates to my LN55B650 and my question has to to with a particular unit's s/n and it's corresponding mfg. date. When Samsung replaced my last unit and it arrived & I registered it on their web-site, I entered it's complete model # & as soon as I finished entering the s/n, a pop-up appeared showing that unit's mfg. date. I thought it was strange though, because I received the replacement on 11/27/09 which is the same date I registered it, but it showed a mfg. date of 11/31/09, which of course would be impossible.
Well, they are again replacing this one since I've complained so much about the panel & although I haven't received it yet, it shows up on 'MY Samsung' web-site showing it's model # & s/n. I simulated registering the unit given the info they are showing and as soon as I entered it's s/n, the mfg. date of 12/31/09 popped up. Does anyone know if these mfg dates are supposed to have any real meaning at all or are they bogus?
Also my current 55b650's model # ends in XZA whereas the one they're shipping shows UZA. Can't tell what panel version it is although I insisted on a S panel unit.
Anyone have any ideas here.

The answer is actually very simple. Any set manufactured during a month is shown on their web site as being manufactured on the last day of the month (usually just listed as the 31st, regardless of the actual month). So any set manufactured in November is 11/31/09 (even though that date doesn't exist).

Check the link. It's says the tv shows the manufacture date on the sticker on the back of the tv. Also, I remember something about the numbers following the letters in the middle of the Sammy serial number show the month and year of manufacture. Can't remember the exact sequence, but see which numbers look like a year indication in the serial number. The link:

Thanks, but the 1st part of your answer only works if you have possession of the TV. As I said, I'm reading the s/n off the web site so I have no idea what the sticker will show. I was trying to find out before I actually received the set.
Also, looking at the s/n on the web-site they show for the one they are supposed to be sending, nothing in that # jives with the 12/31 date I mentioned in my original post.
I also remember reading some time ago a post where someone had said there was a way to decode the s/n & tell what panel the unit had. I realize once the unit arrives I can determine all of this, but I was just trying to find this info out before the unit arrived.
